Description

This 1/350 scale plastic model kit reproduces the Japanese Kagero-class destroyer Yukikaze as she appeared during the 1945 Ten-Ichi-Go operation, the Battle for Okinawa. Known as the "lucky destroyer," Yukikaze survived numerous Pacific battles including Guadalcanal, the Marianas, and Leyte Gulf, and was the only ship of her class operational by war's end. The kit includes parts to build either a full-hull display model or a waterline version. Rotating gun turrets and torpedo launchers use polycaps for articulation. ABS plastic strengthens the masts, while photo-etched parts provide detail for ladders and radio antennas. Metal chains and a display stand are included. The assembled model can be stored in the package.
